Financial planning for specific life events requires a more nuanced approach.

Over the years Helen and her team have built a successful business in Equanimity by creating a service with specialist expertise advising people going through divorce. This includes an understanding of the legal process of divorce, and the implications for pensions and other assets. Life moments such as separation, divorce or bereavement can involve taking on sole responsibility for finances where previously they might have been shared or delegated to a partner. An important role of the financial adviser here can be building people’s confidence to make decisions, as well as improving financial literacy.

Equanimity also has experience supporting entrepreneurs with their finances and helping them plan for the future.

Atomos has acquired Equanimity because we believe its specialist capabilities in these areas will be an asset to our financial planning service.

By bringing the Equanimity team into atomos, we hope to lean on Helen’s experience to deliver more inclusive advice services, starting with enhancing our ability to support clients through significant life changes.

Helen will take on a new role at atomos as Head of Women’s Financial Planning. This will allow our clients to benefit from her skills and long experience in the financial services space, with a particular focus on empowering women to make informed decisions about their money.
