Lydia Macdonald

Lydia is a Senior Portfolio Manager and Head of the atomos Brighton Office. She manages investment portfolios on behalf of private clients, often families of several generations and some of which she has looked after for over 20 years. Lydia largely manages ISA portfolios, offshore bonds, trusts and pensions. Lydia also manages charities funds, that she is particularly passionate about, and works closely with the Trustees in order to design and oversee tailored investment strategies that balance long-term capital growth and income requirements, risk management and regulatory compliance, whilst remaining aligned with each charity’s mission and values.

Lydia began her career in 1985 and has worked for a number of institutions in London, including ANZ Grindlays Private Bank, Gerrard, Barclays Wealth and Brewin Dolphin, where she was a Divisional Director for ten years.

Lydia often works closely with financial planning colleagues in order to help clients plan for various life events and feel reassured that they are making informed choices. She is also a member of the atomos Vulnerable Customer Forum which helps to shape the company’s interactions with clients who may be considered to be “vulnerable” at any given point, to ensure that we are providing the level of support required.

Lydia has 40 years’ experience and is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments (CISI) and holds the Level 6 Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice and Management.
